I found this lil press for not much.  They have a bunch of 'em.  Anyway, do you think this might be enough pressure for good compression???

Nice arbor press.I use a smaller model foe seating bullets in the 6PPC for benchrest.Never thought about using it with the Holy Black-but now that you mention it--- ;D

I spent Twelve bux on it.  Seems they are a glut on the market.  I do like the controlled way I kin apply compression.

Howdy, DD!

How big is that thing?  Perhaps I should rephrase that:  how much working room (clearance, Clarance) is there under the ram?  And where did you find it?

Hey Horse,

I got it from DeLaney Surplus north of here on Hwy 12 across from the old Badger Ammo plant.  They've got a bunch of 'em.  Also, in one corner they have a whole bin of stainless steel ladels without handles.  Look perfect for casting with larger size molds.  It's a big junk store with lots of good stuff.

The rig stands about 18" high and weighs lots.  I'm guessin' it has about five inches available under the ram if you remove the turn table.  The turn table is about 1/2" thick.  I bought it for compressing powder in my 45-70 cases and it can be very precise for that.  It also has a potential to over compress if you are careless with it.  I like the little arbor press because it's very precise.  I'll be making a stop for it so that I"ll always get the same compression.

The post was more or less a spoof, but I do like the tool for compressing powder.
