Paladins #97 first outing........

Well................

I gotta tell ya`ll, I shot my #97 for the first time on Sunday and here`s how it went.......

I loaded up 30 rds in magtec brass shells 15 with a crimp `n 15 normal.

I had read from different sources that I would encounter problems iffn I didn't crimp sooooo to be on the safe side I crimped 15.


At the range I loaded up with 5 crimped shells and let rip!!!

WOW!!! It wuz BLOODY BRILL!!!

I had NEVER got such a buz from a gun!! No hangups at all!!

OK I now loaded up with 5 normal shells and let rip again, fully expecting ta have jams and problems.......

Bloody Brill Again!! no hang up what soever, by now some other pards were beggin for a go, so I gave a few of them 4 shells each and off they went, different shooters usin different shells as I mixed them up on purpose and NOT ONE misfeed!!!

I will be usin it again on Sunday at our first official shoot of the year n hopefully I will get some piccies yer ya`ll

Since she's a takedown, cleanup should have been easy.  I'm happy to hear that the brass shells functioned well in yer gun.  Those old guns shot Holy Black before they shot heathen smokeyless fad powder.  I'm thinkn' they can handle it.

While DD and me is sittin out here on the frozen tundra waitin fer that durn glacier ta melt back enough so we got some room to shoot, these pesky Texicans (who won't come out of the house if the temp falls below 55) have been shootin all winter long.  Then they keep postin bout how much fun their havin. 

Meanwhile DD and me is just tryin to boil up a batch of lutefisk fer our lunch, the ground's froze to hard to get our rakefisk dug up, most likely that will have ta wait fer June.

On top of all this, now we got us an Englander cowboy (who celebrates the 17th of March just a bit more than most English fellers would) what got he-self a real nice 16 ga. 97.   He's a goin be postin pictures of how much fun he's havin shootin while it's all DD and me can do is try ta keep our fire (from musk ox chips) lit ta cook our lutefisk.

Sometimes puttin up with them Texicans and Englander cowboys is more than a body can bare.  Next thing ya know them polar bears will be back wantin our lutefisk.

Well! - Talk about weather!  Minus 17 two days ago (Sunday)  Too cold to even think about shootin'  Maybe thats why I spend a Stoopid amount of time on this here Forum.  Shooting gloves.  I have a pair of gardening gloves with the index finger worn out to expose the pad of the trigger finger.  Works OK.

How much holy black do ya sprinkle on the lutefish  to get that just right taste ?

Paladin be sure to keep an eye on the pin that is at the top of the tube where it meets the barrel.  Sometimes when you put your gun down a certain way you can knock it back the wrong way.  You don't want to lose that little sucker especially while shooting.

I sure enough like ta start takin my meds again but the truth is they's on top of that big flat rock DD buried our Rakefisk under last July.   We was campin out on the Tundra just south of the glacier on that nice warm July night.  Bout midnite the wind starts blowin and the snow starts comin down and the first thin ya knowed that dang glacier slid down and covered up my meds.    That's why we is sittin here now waitin fer it ta melt.

Ve enjoy the Lute.  Lefsa's fine, but the Italians keep puttn' left overs on it and callin' it pizza.  Somewhere in my distant past I remember a saying from my ol Uncle Nels.  Goes like this. . .

"Ten thousand sweedes came thru the weeds, chased by one Norwegan!

Don't remember quite whut he said about us Germans. . Probly somethin' like "If it's got fuel,  air, spark and compression all at the right time, It's gotta run.  Built that way."

Baby polar bear is sat on the ice with Mum and he`s shiverin uncontrollably,
