Anybody ever changed a Henry barrel? I'm thinking caliber change...

I'm going to be shooting Frontier Cartridge this coming year, using two .45 Colt Uberti Outlaws and a Uberti 1860 Henry in .45 Colt. I was looking at VTI Gun Parts website this morning, and got a brain fart, er I mean idea, regarding changing the Henry to .44-40. It looks to me like all I'd have to do is get a .44-40 barrel, unscrew the old one, screw in the new one, headspace it, and I'm good to go. From looking at the parts list, the barrel is the only caliber specific part in the Henry. I've got a guy here locally who knows how to do the headspacing, etc., so here's my list of questions:

Am I dreaming, or is this a relatively inexpensive way to get a Henry in .44-40 if the urge strikes?

Has anybody ever done this?

How difficult is it?

Should I just forget it, or is it practical?

I'm thinking shorter barrel also. If I use a 18 1/2" barrel, will I still have room for ten rounds, or will I have to go with the 22 1/2" barrel?

Will John and Marsha end their marriage, or go to Mexico for a second honeymoon?

I do not believe that 10 roundc will fit the 18 1/2 barrel's magazine, due to the part that twists remains the same as the longer barrel.  I have a 20" carbine that was made up locally and it will hold 10 .45 LC.
