What "if"  :-X

Beretta ( Uberti/Benelli) bought them.... you heard it here first !  ???

My money is on USFA. Heard talk years ago that USFA made Colt an offer. Don't know how true that was. It would not hurt my feelings to see that scenario, though.

At least that would keep it U.S. owned, Rio........ 8) ::)
I might be slow, but I'm mostly accurate.....

It would be a big improvement for Colt products, especially SAAs.  BTW, COLTaholics, don't mean to say I told you so, but I TOLD YOU SO!   ;D

me either ,
I don't know if USFA has the capital... but it might keep it in Hartford, Conn. if they could swing it.

My bet is Beretta ( Uberti/Benelli) Accokeek, MD. ....they do have the capital.
when planets align...do the deal !

The nay sayers on the 1911 Forum say this is bogus and won't let you post about it, but from what I have been told this is real and it is in the works.

As of yesterday (I'm NOT at work today), I'm certain they havn't been sold. I have a "friend" ;) who is an insider.

IMO, just a rumor. EVERYBODY has looked closely at buying Colt for the past 5+ years...so far, no-one has found it an "attractive" acquisition.

Yeah, I read they were at SHOT and denying the rumor, while taking plenty of new custom orders.

And still not a word of the sale from any legitimate news source.  Another rumor, another tempest in a teapot.

In  respect to  Mr. El Deguello's reply # 24 On the "Colt Sold" subject;
I think Ruger has already introduced such a revolver, I believe they call it the "New Vaquero?"

Colt's SAAs 'n clones of them are Colt's SAA 'n clones of the same.  Rugers are Rugers.  They may look somewhat similar at fifty feet.  That's about it.............

I was given to understand that the New Vaqueros were built on a smaller frame, i.e. the 1955 Ruger Blackhawk frame to be more "inline" with the Colt frame.  Because of complaints that the old style Vaqueros were too heavy. At least that is what I have gathered from my readings on the subject.

Still a Ruger.  They don't look or feel like a Colt's.  The guts are different too.

O.K. "Laid off again" you have made your point. I guess discussing revolvers is kinda like discussing religion or politics I'll stick with my Rugers [Old Style] 'n you stay with your Colts. I, personally don't like the way the NVs feel in my hands and ditto for the Colt too small for my grip.  but my OS Vaquero and OS Bisley Vaquero now that's something I handle
and shoot witout having my 1st fingerjoints flappin in the breeze.
