Just wondering, what is the care for nickled revolvers etc?  Keep them oiled much the same as blued guns?  Is there anything special one needs to do?

I have a little "minature Schofield", I think it is a model 3 S&W that one side of the cylinder has gotten pitted, where it has laid and the nickle has come off.  What is the best thing to do to avoid more pitting etc?

Thanks,

You might try a coating of Rennaisance Wax. Recommended and used by museums for the protection of all firearms - blue or nickel.

El Deguello

Some years back I came into posession of a coated, gun cleaning rag, the type often seen.  For some odd reason I got to looking at the instructions.  It said " do not used on  nickel plated equipment."   It may have said guns in place of equipment, you get the picture.  Having nickel hand guns and not wanting to find out "why" I threw the coated cloth away.

The best thing to clean nickel guns is a fleece cloth. You can buy fleece at any fabric store. Relly keeps them shinning.
