New to Cowboy shooting.  I have a Winchester 1894 in 44 Magnum.  Is there anyway to slick up the action when cycling the lever?  It has a definite "stop" when it cocks the hammer.  Jim

Been there, done (some) of that.

Something else to do is polish the underside of the slide/bolt  as well as polish the front and tip of the hammer.

Maybe take a coil or two off the hammer and lever springs. I know one gent who did this and he uses a Trapper in 45lc (like yours truely) for all his main matches now.

The recently manufactured (non-crossbolt safety) trappers in 45lc and 44mag are pretty nice from the factory.
