I came across some money yesterday so I decided it was sixgun time. I've had such good luck with my other Stampede and have been wanting to pick up another for a while now so I decided it was time. This time I got the blue CC 4 5/8ths 45LC. It was siting right next to a Colt and the dealer and I made jokes about how similar they looked. The finish like my other is beautifull, completley full of case colors unlike Ubertis which are mostly grey metal with hard contrast to the black grip frame and cylinder. What suprised me most about this gun is the integrity of its lockup. Zero cylider play in any hammer position. In fact I had a heck of a time getting the pin back in it after detailing it. What I dont understand considering its a Uberti gun and shares the flat mainspring is why the clicks sound better and why the ejector rod and action move so much smoother and positive than a standard Uberti. No mushiness at all, just tight possitive clicks, albeit only 3 of them. My other Stampede was my first fixed sighted sixgun that shot to point of aim right out of the box, I've taken very small birds with that gun in fact. The wind was blowing hard today so I couldnt do much of an accuracy test but could keep all shots on a paper plate at 20yds which is fine enough for self defense purposes to which it will be applied. I'll have to test it more this week to find if its adequate for small desert game with my handloads. Overall I'm very happy with this gun as I figured I would be, and am glad I have a second now. Its great when you find a product you believe in and dont have to sell the farm to get one (or two). I know the tranfer bar isnt 100% authentic with the old west, but neither are you or I. This gun was bought for the same reason the SAA was in its time: To provide a portable powerfull accurate reliable sidearm for defense against both two and four legged predators indoors and out.

Good review Galloway. Glad you're happy with your new Beretta. I had heard that Beretta instituted their own quality control on their Uberti made revolvers, so that may be the reason it looks and functions better out of the box.
