Grrr...
a FedEx email scam was going around that claims to be a "package delivery notification" from the company, which said, "Your package is held in our warehouse."
The scam was being sent around, got two today and have seen several times before
particularly during gift-giving holidays.

Beware don't get scammed.

I get those all the time.  Also now they are sending out Amazon order confirmations hoping that you will use thier link or download their attachment so they can steal your info.  Lots and lost of Bank spoof emails going out saying that your account has been locked and you need to contact them.

Got a call today from 'Amazon' about charges to my account but no legit emails. Crooks gotta crook. That nigerian prince needs a new tiara for his 23rd wife.

The bad news is the crooks are still crooking

Worst news is many of these are terrorists, chinese, north korean, or russian professionals intending
Disruption and funding of  their little endevours.

The good news is that, when properly motivated, the Athorities CAN shut them down.

The best news, is that "them who can do it" are infact taking the worst offenders down, silently and behind the scenes.

On several "special occasions" it was accomplished via physical boots on the ground methodology involving collateral damage, international cooperation, and later quiet court proceedings often in other countries.
Usually has to meet a "certain criteria" .

As a retired whatchacallit I sort of continue to quietly observe from afar and from behind a safe thingamajig.

Since I posted this, I still get the same Fed-Ex SPAM 2 or 3 times a day...Now its 2 packages in the latest...

Trying to unsubscribe is pointless because the post bounces back as undeliverable.
As SPAM it is removed from the in-box and sent to spam.
Short of changing my email address, my only option is to continue removing it as spam.

I also get numerous emails, touting I have a FREE gift @ ACE Hardware, Home Depot, Target etc.
ACE even goes so far to say it is Milwaukie cordles drill.

I know they are phony.  These ASShats are persistent.

I know this is about spurious messages intended to trick people into disclosing financial information. But about the other kind of Spam... When my Dad returned from overseas after WWII, he told my mother if she ever served Spam, he would divorce her instantly. They were married 67 years. I won't eat the stuff either!

Austin, TX used to have an event called Spamarama with various recipes competing.  Went from 1978 to 2007, and a few times since.

Yeah don't do that.  If anything the FTC has a website that you can forward the mail to and when they get enough of the same type then they take action.
