Major 2

David Lee "Tex" Hill, 1915- 2007
a World War II fighter pilot who became the youngest brigadier general in the history of the Texas Air National Guard.
In 1941, Hill joined the Flying Tigers, an American volunteer group based in China during World War II. He shot down 19 enemy aircraft during the war.
Hill emerged from the war a national hero. John Wayne portrayed him in the 1942 film, The Flying Tigers, and Hill earned numerous medals, among them the Silver Star, Legion of Merit, four Distinguished Flying Crosses, the British Flying Cross and six Chinese combat decorations.

I post this here because of the unique shoulder holster he wore in China, with the Flying Tigers.
Possibly in theater (China) made
Currently displayed in the Museum of the Pacific.
It is interesting as it is rather elegant but crudely made.
I hope to find better photos, these are computer screen shots.

Marshal Will Wingam

Thanks for posting the video link and photos. That holster is quite interesting. It would be fun to make one like it.

If I can get better photos, I believe I'll make one...

Perhaps someone in Texas near Fredericksburg, could go to the Museum and take detailed photos  :-\
I doubt I ever get out there.  :(

I made this one somewhat similar some years ago
