I am having problems with my Cimarron 1860 conversion. It has been to the range twice. The first time it did fine except for one instance when it didn't go to full cock. The second time it did the same, including an instance of not cocking.

After I cleaned it following the last range trip it would not cock and in trying to get it to cock, the cylinder and hammer locked up. I have replaced the bolt, the hand, and the hand spring. No change.

With the bolt out and the hand in it will not go to full cock. After trying to cycle it the cylinder and hammer still lock up. With the hand out and the bolt in, the hammer will easily go to half cock and full cock.

I don't find any burrs in the channel that the hand fits in.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Justician,
It sounds like you could be having some short arbor probs. Is the barrel binding the cylinder? The face of the cyl may not be true. You can p.m. me your number and would prob be easier to talk than to pound on the keys here.

Understand, I'm not cycling your gun in my hand, so all I, or anyone can do is speculate.  With the problems you describe, the gun needs to be completely timed.  Please understand, there are no "drop in" parts in Uberti guns.  Each part has to be fit.  When you just buy parts, you are replacing parts that have not been properly fit, with parts that haven't been "fit" at all.  The SA if fairly simple with few parts, but those parts must work in concert.
If this gun is new from Cimarron, SEND IT BACK.  They owe you warranty.  give Cimarron a call.  They may even cover the shipping.

Thank you.  I can do  trial and error with one or two parts, but nothing as major as this appears to be.

I will check on the warranty.
