I have a older Tan Galco holster that I would like to dye Black.
What should I use to clean the leather with before applying the dye?
Persecutions, what to look for etc...

Thanks,

I scrubbed it down with ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL. Let it dry and then scrubbed it with Acitone to remove all the shine. I'll check it tomorrow morning to see if it did any good.

After you re-dye it, be sure to put some good conditioner on it, like Skidmore's or such to replenish the natural oils that get stripped out with the solvents. Then post a photo of it here.
