Other than caliber what are the differences between the two rifles and is there an easy way to determine them from a distance?

Four-Eyed Buck

Only with the action open. The '94 will have a large link piece that will show at about a 45 degree angle from the bottom of the action, where the '92 won't. The '92 was designed for pistol calibers, the '94 was designed for longer rifle carts originally. They back engineered it to use pistol carts. They handle the .44's and .45's fairly well, but the .357/.38's are usually a real problem child. The long stroke on the '94 makes it less competitive than the other designs. If you pay attention to most of the top shooters locally and nationally, they aren't using the '94........Buck 8) ::) ;)
I might be slow, but I'm mostly accurate.....
