Is there any alternative to this to check if the ammo fits ? ???

It sounds like you are looking for a "case gauge"? Not sure if there is one offered, but likely Lyman or Wilson (or a local machine shop) could easily make one?

Like a "chamber replicator" to test fit the cases in?

Hello:

Been down that road.
Some tips, please:
The Spencer's, esp. ARMISPORT IMPORTS, have varying chamber dim's.
The metric chamber drawings of the EU " authority" rarely match the chamber.
Plus, the 56-50 rounds are battered, bullets can loosen and have tipped noses from cycling.
Because of cycling bumps, a round that finger chambers may not cycle.
Might be better to provide an uncycled dummy round (of one that cycles) instead of one matching a drawing.

And from where can I get this dummy round , any idea or tips ?

El Supremo

Hello:

Sorry about not including "how/where".

I make my dummy rounds using CH4D commercial 56-50 reloading dies, bullet and case to proper overall length (read "SORI" section in our SSS Forum) with no primer or powder.

See if the test sample finger fits and that two will cycle from the magazine.  Cycling can change the samples, so if they work, make another and gently double-check it finger fits.  Then call Tom Crone, a fine machinist.  Ask him if he will make a test round fitting die to match the one you provide.  He's done them for me as a variation of his straight line seating die.  He is at (three zero one) 473 5699.  Smiles.

For safety, take the hammer off and use the chamber in your own gun ???

Hello, Bear Tooth Billy:

Might be simpler to remove the Spencer BLOCK, not the hammer. Smiles.

Growing up as a machinist's son, I think you could take the specs / dimensions of the cartridge to a local machine shop and have them make a case checker for you. Probably run a C-note, but it would be useful.

Maybe a beginner luck but all my hand loads fired and the Spencer cycled them as well.
I didn't use BP bug Trailboss and the gun is very accurate.
I will try another load with IMR 4227 as well.
