Testing Another Pattern

I made another holster pattern loosely based on a photo of an original one I found online. I used my large Frank James floral stamp instead of making a floral pattern with various stamps. It was made from a piece of old (very old), hard, semi-belly leather that wasn't going to be used for anything important. I got a few goobers where the groove tool dragged or slipped on the hard leather but I still finished the holster to prove the pattern. The pattern is a success and I can use it for holsters in the future with few modifications. It was dyed from a jar of mixed left over dyes, none of which was enough to make a project, and thinned with alcohol to make it enough to submerse the thing before assembly. The whole project came out fairly good considering.

Even for a half hearted test, that is a fine looking holster.

Thanks, Capt. I've wanted a Gallatin-ish pattern with a stitched toe for a while.

Color and pattern suit me right down to the ground !

Thanks, Pards. It was a bear to get that old, hard leather stamped but it was worth it. Now I have a good pattern to make more from. That color will be hard to duplicate exactly since I have no idea what is in it but something close is not out of the question.

Nice job Marshall. Success with a pattern and got a useful holster as a bonus.

Thanks, John. It will be fun to make the next one.
