Hello!  Trying to answer that question with any help from the group.
I've been reading that some tang sites that are claimed to be compatible with old 1873s mount too far forward on the tang and this causes problems during the shell ejection action.
Thanks for any help!

Actually, I'm of no actually practical help as I haven't tried mounting New(er) tang sights to an original 1873.  However, the only way a tang sight would affect ejection is if the sight interfered with cocking the rifle.

The Carrier Block is actually the "ejector" and relies on rapid rise to kick out the fired case.  Anything that inhibits the Lever Travel could have an effect.

I have always questioned a Tang sight on anything other than a Hunting arm as the the Tang sight is really in the way.

Hello

I have a Miroku 1873 in Cal. .357 Mag / 38 SPL.

I have a Marble Standard Rear Tang Sight.

Uberti 1873 are not drilled and tapped for the tang sight like the originals are. I've had to drill and tap the Ubertis to put sights on them like the originals use.

I have a couple of original 1873 Winchesters.  Imagine my delight when current production Marbles tang sights exactly fit them, even to using the standard Marbles screws!  All I did was remove the original filler screws (still there!) and screw on the Marbles - a 10 minute job.
