 I knew a very nice Malayan lady that made her own Kim Chee that was just spicy hot enough to be very good. She also pickled her own thin sliced Ginger root, which was excellent! The ginger can also be somewhat spicy hot too all by its self.

That is one of those foods I have never tried,

I have a list  ::)  I won't eat,  but the list has been somewhat reduced & crossed off as I got older.

example - Orca...you could not force me to eat that *H*T  ( except I did finally try it fried this year in fact , did not hate it )
Pigs feet.... NOPE !

Rhubarb  = nope
Mincemeat pie ... eh no....

but .... Broccoli, asparagus, Brussel sprouts,  were once on the list, and now not !

So there is a chance (though very very small ) I might try rotten cabbage kim chee  ....eh maybe not !

My sister loves it. She talked me into trying some in San Antonio. I was not a fan, but with enough other food around it I managed to choke it all down.

Morning all.

Have a long one ahead of me today. The scheduling lady still hasn't figured out that I can't cross the river without a bridge, so schedules me for jobs on either side thinking it's a quick trip. The problem is, for these two jobs today, ithe nearest bridge is 12 miles away, and will take me over an hour to get to. At least I get overtime.

Oddly enough, the kids when growing up were easy converts to asparagus because they heard, through the playground grapevine, that it would make their pee smell funny.
Seems any effort spent on convincing them it would broaden their dining experience wouldn't have worked.

Have made a lot of kim chee, have made Yuppie type when I was given kale, made redneck when I had a lot of collards in the garden.  I really like brussels sprout but anything in the cabbage family will work.   8)
