Like the title says I'm thinking of swapping out my wood grips on my Uberti 7" blued for a set of Ivory Antique grips ? I've been looking at Buffalo Brothers and a few others so is there one brand that will not require any fitting, drop in grips.

Anyways I'm looking for your input and pics ?

The chance of finding a set of grips that do not require fitting is essentially Zero.

The Buffalo Bros. grips do take some minor fitting, but they are easily worked, and come w/ good instructions.

There is enough variation in the grip from gun to gun, fitting will be likely.
Fitting is easy, just requires sandpaper and going slowly.

100% agree.  Have done this "fun job" before; just time and patience, patience.  Good luck. :)

Hi Captain Dan

Can those grips be ordered without the black in the checkering?  What "specification" on the grip color?

Thanks

My Good Capt Dan

Those came out beautifully!
How does the checkering work for you?
I am torn between having a better grip (checkered) or letting the pistol slide a tish during recoil (smooth)

He makes some sweet unfinished white maple grips that, while not as good as that sweet old ivory, they look so much closer to it than plastic/resin that others sell.  Take it from me lads, I've tried many and I'm well satisfied with this guy.  Good service, quick delivery and you can get his stuff through Amazon (gasp) and E-Bay.  Check him out.  I've got his grips on 4 Schofields and several Vaqueros.

Photos are worth a thousand words.  ;D
A man's true measure is found not in what he says but in what he does.

Don't have a clue why that was upside down.  But....you get the idea.  He also goes by LS Grips on Amazon.  Lots of (better) pictures there if you are interested.    I like mine and I've tried many, including Buffalo Brothers.  These suit me better.  Numerous styles and quality work.  I'm gone.

Hi
I can see a couple pair of those in my future in Mesquite if at all possible.  ;D

Guy is from Missouri apparently.

Talked to Lance Schofield and ordered a couple pair of the walnut checkered grips.  Lance said he would continue to look for some decent sized Mesquite for me.  Walnut will match the Bowie knife I already have.

Hi

I received the grips and both sets fit a gun without sanding.  The new oil finish is drying as I type.

I"ll work pictures sometime, but am busy work wise.
