stuck screws

Has anyone ever used a soldering iron to heat up a screw to try and loosen it? I have three I am soaking in Kroil after which I will try a 3/8 hand impact wrench?

I've never had to deal with tuck screw.    If it was stuck the heat may help draw the oil in and after it cooled it may come loose with the impact.

It could not hurt to try, but I am not sure if a soldering iron will transfer enough heat.
In the past I have filed the point of a 10 penney nail flat, held the nail in vice grips and heated to red, then applied
the tip to the screw. The one time I did it, it worked for me. Also used that method to "spot anneal" hard steel so I could drill it.

good luck, if this saga continues you may need to drill it out.

Thanks to all for the advice. It's out. Let it soak with Kroil, used 3/8 hand impact wrench.

Reno I was just yanking your chain all in good fun.
The Kroil and heat idea might work, but have a good gunsmith hollow ground screwdriver bit.
My disassembly of a new gun usually requires on a screw somewhere an impact driver and hammer.
