Ho Paladin,

That's way too small for the DD/ROA.  Never swage down to .445.  I'd have to have a special mold design for just that caliber.  So, for the time being, it's round balls for these guns.

The original reason I designed the DD/ROA for the Ruger Old Army was because I knew that Ruger held their tolerances very tight.  So far, this has proven to be the case.  Ruger calls the ROA a 44, but it's really a 45.  I was thinkin'  that the other "44s" were like the ROA and the bullet might be made to fit.  This seems not to be the case.

Sorry about that,

These fit the ASM and Uberti .Spot on!! even got the beveled base!!

Sooo........... What I`m gonna do (I know it sounds mad But its the Irish in me ;D)   I`m gonna cast a few and Im gonna MILL me a BIG LUBE groove in a few!!!

Now, howzzat sound to ya`ll

Hey Paladin UK Pard!

That's the way I designed the DD/ROA basically.  If Lee makes that mold, then they can make it as a Big Lubetm model.  It'll cost a hundred dollar set up fee and some work with Pat, but it could get done.  We mostly took the LEE conical for the ROA and replaced them two skimpy lube grooves with one Big Lubetm canyon.

It ain't rocket science, it just takes money and time.  Mayhaps milling a big groove in your bullets will tell you if that's a workable model first.

Like Sundance said, "You jest keep thinkn', Butch, that's whut yer good at". . . ;D
