Wolff type springs in 1875 Remington s?

Has anyone used the lightened springs in their 1875s or 1890s, any how were the results?

  Got no help from here. I've only ever lightened the existing flat springs. For the past year /year and a half though, I've been changing all my customers Remington's over to coil hand, trigger and bolt springs. It definitely allows much more "tuneability" and of course the reliability is "off the chart". I think it's the best upgrade for Remingtons since 1890 !!  I wind the springs myself and the only "drop in" spring is the bolt spring. The trigger and hand take some modification.  I'll put up a "how to" if there's any interest.  I could supply the springs .  .  .

I reshaped mine and they really work well. i used a dremel and made all the sanding marks lengthwise so there wouldn't be any way for them to start cracking across (I was careful not to get them hot and de-temper). Then I hand polished the edges with 400 grit, also done lengthwise. The ends were left full width so they would fit correctly. You can then fine tune them with the adjustment screw to your preferred tension. This works well with the NMA aka 1858 models equally well.
