Books OToole

This is sad news.  He was one of the original Originals and one of the most talented men I've ever met.  I always hoped that he would find his way back to NCOWS.

Happy Hunting Bill.

River City John

Very knowledgable man on Native American Indian lore, and was, if I remember correctly, a Tribal Elder.
You can catch him in his finery briefly in some scenes from "The Last of the Mohicans".

And a proud Vietnam Vet.

Me'gwetch, Bill.

I only knew Bill briefly but we had some nice conversations at NCOWS events. May he rest in the hands of our Lord.

That's a damned shame - he was a helluva guy - knowledgeable, friendly, opinionated - his passing is a great loss to this sport.

My most sincere condolences.  He kindly helped authenticate part of my originals background.  May our Heavenly Father of all bless him and his family.

Just as a follow-up . . .

There have been a couple of posts on the boards about the struggle with Alzheimer's Johnny Crawford is going through.

Bill was very proud of the fact that he and Johnny served in the same unit in 'Nam, and kept in contact.

Ol Gabe

RCJ, All,
I recall OCB commenting on his time with Crawford. Once he posted a pic of him, Johnny and others in a Color Guard, if I recall correctly they wore grey ceremonial uni's and white spats and white helmet, the pic was old so the color of the uni's might have actually been Army Green of the day.
Have tried to locate that pic since reading of OCB's demise but have had no luck, perhaps others might fare better.
OCB was a giant of a man and his pride in what he did and had done was endless, all who met him were lucky.
Best regards and may the Sky Father keep him close.
