I just got a notice from EMF that they have the Capt. Schaeffer back in stock.
This is not a paid announcement, just a satisfied customer.

Caught the reference, didn't care much for the series.

Sadly, Peggy Lipton passed away within the last year.
I was more impressed with her participation in Fonda's exercise videos.

But, back to the thread. Followed the link and it is a pretty gun. It would make a perfect BBQ-gun for the black powder enthusiast. Unfortunately I'm not invited to many Texas BBQ's, so . . .

Besides, picked up a '62 Police I'm going to play with. My budget is shot for the next 3-4 years.

I have TWO.  Yepper.  Chased the first batch really hard.  TWO of the niftiest 1851 replicas on the PLANET.

I Also added a pair of R & D Conversion Cylinders to mine.  The R & D folks actually brought out Stainless Cylinders to go with the Capt. Schaeffers.  Schazzam!!!!

Do you think they will come out with the U S Marshall that is polished steel and a little longer barrel?

Since I have 14+ guns, I've been called the Imelda Marcos of Cap&Ball. Now, that's a COMPLIMENT!

Cool off Coffinmaker!
His hacksaw is lurking in the shadows..
I have DLX Marshals on order and that barrel looks like the proper length to compliment the rest of the gun.
IMHO

;D   Well .... Hi Hellgate    ;D

Surprise ..... Surprise ..... Surprise .....  :D   The Marshal series has been out there for a while now.  The Marshalls are the same Polished and Heat Treated steel (They were the first).  Barrel length is 4 3/4 although I have seen EMF advertise 5 1/2 but I think that is in error.  BUTT and HOWEVER:  You now have a Choice in .36 of the "Old Silver" which is the same build but with 7 1/2 inch barrel.  I also found the 1860 "Old Silver" with 8 inch barrel, same build (the "Old Silver" guns are Polished and Heat Treated).  Of even possibly more interest is the 1862 Dance and Brothers with 8 inch barrel, also Polished and Heat Treated.  I have a set of all the Polished and Heat Treated guns, excepting the 1860 as I don't care for the 1860 Pattern Barrel.

All of the above guns are built on the Pietta 1851 frame and all have the same internal lock parts and ALL tune up really nice.  I must admit a CAVEAT though.  The only guns I didn't cut down are the Capt. Schaeffers.  The rest are all Snubbies now.  Never met a barrel too short.  Any time these guns get close to my Evil Twin (Hacksaw MacGurk), the ends of the barrels fall off.  I really think the Polished and Heat Treated guns are the best made Cap Guns available today.

OOPS.  Sorry.  You asked Bunk.  I'm not Bunk.  Didn't stay inna Holiday Inn (that I admit too) but just thought I'd stick my toe inna water anyway.  And .... should you have questions about the guns, fire away.  Or if you want to know what I've done to 'em ... Be glad to answer.
