Local Bowling Pin match - lots of shooters with 9mm's and rimfires.  Because of the slow unload time, I went to the line with two pistols - an 1860 RM (.45 Colt) and 1872 OT (.44 Colt).  Was competitive (hit the targets) but too slow.  On one relay I tried the "New York Reload" with 5 cartridges in each for each set of 6 pins, but it was even slower - better to make 6 of 6 count.  The Boom and smoke was popular with the crowd...

On a similar vein, many years ago in a galaxy far far away...I once qualified with a 3.5" Cimarron Thunderer in .44-40 as an off duty carry weapon on the SO in the late 90s....  I had a nice pancake holster I made for it.
