Howdy folks!

I understand that some people got a little concerned about last weeks numerous spam posts on the forum.

First of all, we did a cleanup immediately after these posts surfaced and when we received alerts about them. Thank you to all of you for reporting about this.

Some of you have asked if the forum was hacked. The answer is no. The spammers did not get access to the software or the server. They registered as regular members or used a so-called spambot to register and post bypassing our verification questions.

We have now upgraded the ?entrance? to registration, so it would be more challenging for spammers to register and post. However, once in awhile they are able to register as members and post and this is an ongoing war between forum owners and spammers and have been for years. So this is nothing new, but annoying nevertheless.

Thank you very much, Marshal!

Yeah, annoying is a good word for it.  I can't imagine how the spammers think that anyone is going to click on their links.

Thanks Marshall for your work and attention to the forum. Don't know why these morons want to do what they do. Evidently nothing else to do but sit in their dungeons and try to disrupt others. See on another gun forum this weekend some clown posted his first posting in all Russian, like the majority of shooters can read/speak the language. Thanks again for your attention. CC
