Just finished watching.  Identified a few 1866 carbines, Sharps carbines, The Pastor (Bishop in the book) had a Smith No. 3, and some 1860 Colts.  Trying to figure out what Lassiter had.  At one point I thought it was a Remington NMA conversion, but another I thought maybe a Richards Conversion.  Was definitely NOT an 1873 SAA, nor was it percussion because there were quick views of an ejector rod.  IMFDB does not have toe movie in it.  Anyone enlighten me (Major 2, maybe).

I just saw that movie on TV a week or two ago, but now I don't recall what he was using.

They had whatever the prop man handed them for that scene.  Not one of my favorite movies.  The book is much better.

I agree.  I was actually half way through the book when I watched the movie.  The book conveys the treachery and attempts to control much better.  The Movie is PC, just saying they were a "religious sect", not Mormons as described by the book. While to Zane Grey it may have been significant, but not necessary to the story to name the sect, as there were other fundamentalist sects then that were as strict and controlling.
