Side bar question for Abilene  or OD3

I purchaed this Stainless Uberti on GB with the two sets of grips shown, It was stated it was tuned by Bob James.
and I have no reason to doubt it the gun is smoooooooooooth & slick ...

But my question, is the recoil plate , Uberti OEM or did James do it ?   I have not seen another SS Uberti to compair , just wondering.


While on the subject, I bought this (4th Photo) BP frame 32/20 NIB from Okla Tom ....nice out of the box but I sent it home with Coffin Maker for his brand of  rub & buff , springs etc. SWEET ! ( I fitted the Black walnut grips )

Major 2, I could be wrong but I don't think that FP bushing came from Uberti.  Been a while since I messed with any SS guns but I don't recall ever seeing that.  Nice addition

I really like these pistols and for the price, they are well worth it...if one wants a reasonably accurate reproduction of an original Custer ear Colt.  The major problem I have with most Italian reproductions of the Colt S.A., is in the shape of the grips.  They look waaaay more like 1860 Colt percussion grips than any SA ever produced by Colt.  Way too long on the grip strap and not nearly enough drop in that area.
