Lee Shaver Lube Extruder

I ordered a Lee Shaver Lube Extruder to facilitate making grease cookies for my BP 45-70 loads.

It didn't work. All I got was a mess of expensive SPG curling out between the die and the extruder.

Then I decided to change the die from a .458 to .427 to see if that helped and noticed that I had not installed the lock nut around the die body in the Lyman  luber/sizer .... 

I installed the lock nut and behold - I got a nice ribbon of lube 1/16" x 1/2" .... 

This after I called Lee and told him his extruder didn't work. He offered to send me a new extruder free of charge. I'm going to tell him to bill me and I'll pass it on to a friend.
