I am looking for the butt stock for a AYA Matador grade 10 gauge shotgun. Any condition short of fire wood will do for a CAS shotgun
I reied to post this in the classified but ain't savvy enough to do that

Thanks DD but I an resuscitating a wall hanger for CAS and really don't want to sink a bunch of money into a pretty stock for a very hard used gun. Not rusty just hard used in the field goose hunting.
But thanks for the information.

Bunk,

Do you have any parts and pieces of the old stock?

My best,

Blair,
The stock was butchered to install a recoil reducer pneumatic shock absorber and rubber a shock absorber.
The stock was hollowed out and cut off to install it.
I have a plan ,thanks to Coffinmaker, to build up the part of the stock I have and hide the build up with a leather butt stock cover.
It looks like it will work and since it will NOT be used to shoot 3 1/2" Magnum loads it should work.
Lots of work yet to do besides the stock repair it needs to have done including deactivate the ejectors and the automatic safety them shorten the barrels from the 36"+ down to 18 1/2". It will be a behemoth with a proper amount of real Gun Powder and shot in brass cases.
Stand by this is going to be a long process.
Respectfully submitted

Ho Bunk,

I have a 10ga Win. 87 that was shortened.  The pattern spreads too much to take down some KDs.  My Grandson took same KDs down with a .410.  So, you might consider installing choke tubes if there's enough thickness.  Shorter is good for SASS matches but too much pattern spread can spoil your day.  Get them pellets on the targets Sir!

Bunk,

My reason for asking my question is because I was hopping you had enough of the original stock to be able to rebuild it.
I have restored a good many stock, some from quite valuable firearms.
This can be done with two goals in mind. 1 is to restore the arm for use and/or display. 2 is for using the stock for duplication of a new stock.
How badly the stock is damaged may account for which method would prove best for the restoration. Also how much the arm may be used after the work is done may account for which method would be best in the long term.

DD,

I very much agree with barrel length. In a shot gun, I don't care for barrels less than 26". Just my opinion.
