;D My first thread. I spent 2 months trying to find out how to shoot my "new" 1875 Remington in 44REMc.f.. Looked at everything from re-boring the cylunder to 45 Colt to altering a Uberti cylinder in 45 to fit my Remmie. FINALLY found help from various pards, especially Dirty Dan Dawkins who sent me this site. I will paste the final thread from SASS on what I am doing.
I hope this works out! Please update us all on your findings!

Thanks pard, I will. Had a nice technical talk with Bernie at Old West Bullet Moulds. He's sending me a box of cartridges made on his equipment with his brass, lead and Trailboss or Clays (I forget which, but these are the 2 powders I use for everything). If these test loads drop in, far and hit the inside of the barn I will then order the needed supplies to roll my own. I got a wealth of information from Bernie https://oldwestbulletmoulds.com/ and from Bernold at GAD Custom Cartridges http://gadcustomcartridges.com/ , from which I have coming 3 boxes of different weight bullets using BULLSEYE. powder. I will know after Christmas vacation. MERRY CHRISTMAS! DOC
It's a pleasure finding a new cowboy thread with a new possee of tech-heads. Any input would be appreciated. I'll be away from PC till after Christmas, so I'll read your advise then. Till them MERRY CHRISTMAS! and Happy KWANZAHANNAMASDAN!!! Mark "DIRTY DOC" Zachary

I wouldn't shoot smokeless in an original no matter how light the load.  :o

Did You re-bore the original 1875 44 cylinder to .45 Colt, fit an Uberti to it, or keep it original and shoot heeled bullets?  I'm confused.
