Pricey little sucker @ $20 , but I've had mine for several years and it's been worth every cent to me, and other shooters were sure glad I had it in my saddlebags.

I've seen some others that cost even more.  Of course once broken loose the first time, you don't really need the tool, but probably use it more helping others at that point like Major 2 said.

+1 to what Major 2 said.  It is worth every penny of what they are asking.

Mine rides in my range box to all my monthly matches and has been used many more times by others in need than I have ever had a personal need. A fine tool that works as advertised. If you don't have one, have a friend that does close by at your next match.

I have been chasing Sgt. John's post where ever it turns up.  There is a very important CAVEAT:  Often the Magazine Tube Cap is well seized or rusted to the tube threads.  When applying enough force (sorta like my Impact Tool), the entire magazine can rotate in the ferules, against the cross pins.  This can/will groove the tube so the spring and follower will no longer pass.  Bad JuJu.  CONSIDER:

CAREFULLY clamp the Mag Tube in a PADDED vice to prevent it from turning, Then remove the Tube Cap.  There have also been times I have simply ordered a new cap and then stacked the stuck one with VICE GRIPS.  The cap will look pretty ugly after the application of Vice Grips, hence ordering a new replacement.

AS an ADDENDUM ..... If you are working on the Mag Plug for a '66, consider going to SlixSpring (Badman Bullets) and ordering up a snazzy new solid BRASS Mag Tube Cap.  Looks just super TRIX!!  Looks good on a '73 too.  Just not quite as good   ;D

Is the  Solid BRASS Mag Tube Cap NCOWS legal??
