I need a buttstock for a regular Uberti 1876 rifle. Anyone have one they aren't using? Someone replaced theirs with fancy wood and don't  need the old one? I am going to try making a shotgun style but don't really want to cut mine up, just yet.

I have 3 not necessarily shiny or new dimes I've been saving up for this project to offset the cost.  ;)
Thanks,
King

King you may try Precision Gun Works  Kerrville Tx. They have a walnut Shotgun buttstock for 76 Win. 85 USD and the butt plate for it 25 USD  ask them to leave it tight in the tang area's and you should be able to fit it nicely on your Uberti . I have purchased a few stocks from him and his product is outstanding . Wood always looks better than expected. ,,,DT

King, I've got one from my 76 carbine/musket build. I stripped the ugly red finish off and found a nicely figured stock. It's too nice to cut a sling swivel in and too pretty to be on my musket, doesn't match the forarm. I've got a semi finished plain stock to go on it when I get back to working on it. Send me a pm and I can send you more photos. Don't know if you can get a sg style out of it though.

Got a new Stock cover today, had it made to adjust to a shotgun butt, it added enough that I needed for LOP.
Thanks Baltimore Ed for trying to help with your stock.

you could try "Treebone Carving"  if they don't have it they can/will make it. Best Wishes!
