I'm still trying to decide which 1876 I want. While the 45-60 seems good, I am definitely attracted to the thump of the 45-75 and the BIG 50-95. I am not a reloader as of yet but plan on it when I pull the trigger on the 1876 Centennial. Am I correct in assuming that a 45-75 could be reloaded using brass of the 45-90 that has been cut down, as well as the 50-110 cut down for the 50-95? Brass is available from several sites which would seem to make reloading fairly easy. Thanks for the help.  :)

Howdy Robert.  The folks that actually shoot these guns will be along shortly.  But I can tell you that 45-75 is bottlenecked and not related to the 45-90.  Some folks make 45-75 out of .348 and 50-90 brass.  I don't know what a 50-110 is so can't comment on that.  There is a ton of info here you can find by reading past topics here.

Well, it's like this. Right now noone is making proper headstamped brass for any 76 calibers. The 45/60 is the easiest to reload as you can cut down 45/70 brass. The other calibers can be made by reforming other cartridges. Lot of threads here to read up on, and others that do that will be along to explain how. There are a very few places that will reforming brass for sale, but they are few and expensive, check out the 45/75 brass thread.

I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.

I reckon a big factor in the choice is what powder do you intend ? For smokeless the 45/60 is the obvious choice - If you goin whole hog black powder then maybe its a bit wimpy compared to the other two. I went 45/75 mostly because it was the original case for the 76 and I like the look of it ......no coincidence my other favourite winchester is a 38/40?
If I had bought a 45/60 I would never have been completely happy with the choice I made - hard to explain that but there it is.
