Slim  has shot my Ruger SSM,  grips are longer, wider and thicker than stock, to big for many, but I wear a size 11 glove.  For a double action I'd just get the Bill Jordan grips, they fit me nice.

Morning y'all.
Coffee and tea are ready.

'Tis 26 and overcast. "Not as cold. Cloudy with scattered snow showers in the morning  then sunny in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 30s. West wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of snow 50 percent."

I love the smell of Black Powder in the morning!

Darn it....here I am all decided that I want a 44 mag/special, and you guys get me to rethinking my decision with all this talking about model 625's and throw in the 342 and model 60....There is a local gun show this weekend...Maybe just one of each?  ;D
I do have a model 60 in 38 special with Pachmayr grips...technically, it isn't mine.  It belongs to my former mother-in-law.  She left it with me when she moved from TX to MA...I've had it for over 10 years!  It is a nice gun...smooth action...just wish it was rated for 38 +P.

Troy, The S&W model 60 is rated for +P ammo, It's the early model J frames that weren't.

Major, I think this is one of the early models.  It is a 5 shot ~ 2" bbl, and will fit in my front pocket, so I think it is the J frame.
The only place that I see a model number on it is on the frame under where the crane locks.  The markings on the bbl say 38 SP, unlike more recent models that I see marked as 38 SP +P.

Twas frosty this morn, with a little ice. Finally getting up to the 50's... inside. I stoked the fire at 1ish, the boy tried at 6ish on his way to school. When I got up, all the wood he piled in there, was still intact. Gotta teach that boy how to do it right.

Troy, is there a dash with a number after the model number, Like 60-3 , if so, let me know what it is and I can tell you if +P are ok in it.

Ok...I'll check this evening, but memory says there is no dash and number.
Thanks.

21 this am. At least the wind and rain have quit. Suns out bright so I just put 60 rds of 3 year old .45 reloads through my vaqueros. Had a couple of rds that sounded a little different but all went bang, 2 misses?  Stealth bullets no doubt. Duelist naturally. Tried some point shooting with both eyes open. New idea for me. Aiming slows you down I think. Tomorrow is supposed to be 50+ so I'll load em back up tonight and do some more then. I am going to back off my load slightly as arthritis has done a number on my middle finger's knuckle and these vaqueros try to rap it.

Slim, does Micha do leather work in 4H?  He'll need to make a sheath for his new knife after the muster. ;)

Found a blank I made years ago, my design.  Need to decide where to cut the wood, it's Call-in claro aka Northern California black walnut, a different species than Eastern Black Walnut.
