Silver Creek Slim

We made it to MN.
I filled the windshield washer fluid reservoir half full before we left.  Light sn*w started 'bout an hour into the trip. Temp was 4. The salt on the roads were turning the snow into slush instead of melting it.  ::) The washer fluid was freezing on the windshield. Then, 'bout half way into the trip the washer fluid ran out. So, I went to the next exit and threw sn*w on the windshield to clear it and continued west on I-94. Stopped at the next exit where there was a c-store. Washer fluid was sold out. Cleaned the windshield and continued west on I-94. I repeated this a couple more times until I found washer fluid. I added a bottle of Heet to help it from freezing in the windshield. Fun!

Sounds fun Slim.  Y'all can keep that white stuff on that side of Continental divide, and I wouldn't even be mad. ::)

Evening all.

Current conditions are foggy and 30.  Supposed to get to 20-ish.  My grandma is wanting to go look for rocks along the river in the morning, but I'm thinking splitting and then burning some of that wood out back might be more enjoyable.  Or bear hunting.  I still have two more days to fill my tag.

Cap, my friend had the same thing on the 25/26/27.  Naturally he tells me this while he's in my truck on the 28. :o  Two oranges, an apple, and 1000mg of pill form vitamin C later, and I'm still okay.  For now.

I was told recently that I'm "livelier than a one-legged man at a butt-kicking contest."    Is that an insult or a compliment?

Currently a warm 20 degrees and dropping. Bright sunshine. Cut about a half load of seasoned elm for the stove, now to go set out a round bale for the heifers. The last one isn't all gone, but with a forecast high of maybe 10 for the next few days, I'll do my tractoring(and wood cutting) now!

Had good time at the Melbourne (Fla) Gun Show.... My friends John (Capt. John ) Holmes & Mike (Coffin Maker) Rudolph, joined me .
John bought a unfired ( at least condition appears that way ) WALKER  Replica Arms - El Paso, Tx  what was later Allen Arms  and then Cimarron.
Date code is 1963 ... Nice

I found a little Sothern Derringer in 22 short , tight and right ...cool little vest pocket piece....

But my best score was an 32 Hammerless Iver Johnson minty in Box , with accessories, no indication it was ever fired.

2 electrocuted at substation

Police are investigating the apparent electrocution of two people early Friday at a Detroit Public Lighting Authority building, Fox 2 reported on Saturday.

A worker reportedly told Fox 2 he found the bodies just after 6:30 a.m. when he went to the substation to investigate a power outage. The pair are suspected of breaking in the front door of the substation, and, according to Fox 2, they were in the process of stealing copper wiring when they were electrocuted.

Police confirmed to the news organization that two men pried open the front door of a Public Lighting substation, and once inside made contact with 24,000 volts of electricity.

According to the police, the electricity caused their bodies to be fused together, and they were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have not yet given the names of the men.

The substation is located on the city's east side.

Takes a real rocket scientist to think stealing copper wire from a live circuit is a good plan.

Nice finds at the fun show, M-2!

It is the last day of the year, finally.  Maybe the coldest one this year also.

Coffee up for you that may still need it.

10 degrees here, WC -3. worked about 2 hours outside cutting some wood, and that's about long enough! Supposed to be up to 13 tomorrow, probably do another couple hours woodcutting. It's enough that I'm cutting faster than I burn it. Probably have enough for the winter without it, though.

-9F here, WC -17F, beutiful out, clear, almost full moon, snow on the ground.

Wish I was at Jerrys with a big fire going.  Bet I couldn't get up the hill though.
