Doing some research. Is 120 grs of 2FFg with 2 ozs #8 shot too extreme/overload in a modern 10 gauge double, not Damascus? While it may be a lot, I'm looking to see if it is dangerous.
Thanks

I have shot that  load in a 12 gauge modern muzzle loading shotgun. And it kicks really hard when you pull both triggers. The gun still works fine these many years later but now I load 1 1/4 once over 90 grains of 1 fg for most shooting.

Howdy Tom,

I shoot a load much like yours in my Zabala(sp) 10ga SxS loaded into 3½" Federal hulls.  Bucks a mine, but then that's what the mighty 10 is for, isn't it?  I also have a more fragile 10ga Win. 87.  With it I load 2-3/4" hulls with less powder and shot.  Still draws plenty of attention.

Max load listed on the Goex BP site is
123gs of 2f and 1 3/4 oz shot for cartridge 10 ga.
About the same for muzzleloading sg.
