If you have been following the national news (unlike me), you are aware that Houston and all of South Texas is being pummeled with catastrophic amounts of rain. Pitsptr just informed me that they have had approximately 50 inches of rain in the last two days....WOW! We have GAF members in that area who really need us to undergird them with prayer for their safety and that of family, friends and property. SO get out your knee pads, limber up those old bones and let's storm the Gates of Heaven on their behalf. I thank you all in advance for your efforts.
God Bless and shoot safe.

Been praying already, but will continue.
People like me are the reason people like you have the right to bitch about people like me.

Thanks for the prayers.  Many in the area need them, and more will need them before it is all over.  I mistakenly thought that we were "done" with it, but it was just a dry patch, and the storm dipped back into the Gulf and picked up more rain.  It has rained all day.

I live near NASA which is considered Houston, but Southeast of downtown.  My family and my favorite wife's family are fine.  Some in my SASS club have evacuated and been flooded.  Curfews are in place in many areas.  Cabin fever is setting in at my place, but it is a good time to count my blessings.

I've been keeping up, got an EMT friend down there that as been on duty since Thursday.  The news will like not mention it, but the Cajun Navy as about 300 boats doing rescue and the BBQ relief people are sitting up to feed people.

Never underestimate red neck with boats, bbq equipment as well as dutch oven.

My wife and I are sending prayers also. We were flooded by Irene in NC and know that the rising water is a disaster in slow motion. It hides all the damage until it magically drains away. Then all the destruction shows along with what has to be destroyed in order to be rebuilt. Then the work really begins. Houston will be hurting for a long time. We learned fom Irene and elevated 4 ft, whole house generator, etc. My prayer was a simple one "Lord give me strength." He did. He also sent His angels disguised as Methodists and Baptists Disaster Relief workers too. Be strong Houston.

Thank you for checking in here Troy, I've been worried. I think the rest of the Texans I know are from the D-FW-A area, so while they're wet, they aren't flooded (at least according to the MSM and we all know how much we can trust them  >:( )

We had some flooding here, believe it or not, the last couple of weeks. Of course NOTHING like Texas, but we've had some roads washed out and damaged.  The latest was last Saturday. I was gone so didn't know anything about it until Monday morning on my bus route. Lot's of crops hailed out, one road almost completely closed from being washed out, and some (apparent) tornado damage.

Will continue my prayers for Harvey victims.
