I googled "wooden ammo box reproductions" and got hundreds of pictures.  You'll have to sort through them to see which look best... and some are terribly inaccurate.

It runs in my mind that someone here, or on the SASS Wire, was making some well-researched crates.  This was a few years back and I recall the only issue I had with his crates was the paint jobs.  Way too perfect and brilliant.  Military crates were not nearly as well painted.
