I bought a Colt SAA a while back that had a set of white hard rubber eagle grips that had been stained brown/yellow.  They are solid, heavy, very crisp inside and out, and have the Colt Hartford markings on the inside and look/feel exactly like the black grips on some of my other Colts.  But...I cant seem find anything in writing saying that Colt ever made white eagle hard rubber grips.

Has anyone seen them before?

Don't know any history of them, but see some for sale.  Here's a set for $35 :

No, mine are totally different. The ones you found are hollow on the inside (unlike real Colt grips) and are cheap after market knock offs.  Mine are solid and have Colt Hartford marks.  Like you, I googled this question and found the ones you did, just not any like mine.  Hence the post.

I've seen copies of the black grips with the Colt name inside.

Colt didn't produce them, but several aftermarket suppliers did - markings and all.

The popularity of C&WAS led to a lot of custom touches bearing little or no regard to reality.

EMF used to sell them for their Hartford Model SAA.

Interesting.  Whoever made them did a fine job.  They look like they came from a factory mold.  Its too bad that they did not make them in black.  With the scarcity of factory Colt grips and the poor quality of most replacements they would have been a good option.

In any case, I took them off the gun and replaced them with one piece checkered ivories before the ban went into effect.  The white plastic ones are sitting in my parts box.
