Department of the Platte
Department staff – officers call

While looking over departmental staff postings lately I noticed that there are a number of us who have been out of touch for some time.  This leads me to consider whether these folks are still able and interested in remaining on the departmental staff.  Where I have a current (good) e-mail address I have communicated personally in order to establish current status.  In cases where I have no address or have received no response I have no recourse but to post here at the Barracks and hope for a reply.

In particular I am unable to come up with any contact information for Department Sergeant Major Hardtack Henry, Cavalry Commander Lineas Puffbuster, and Chief of Scouts Bow View Haymaker.

Please understand that it is not my intention to "clean house" or to give anyone "the boot", but in the interest of maintaining the vitality of the departmental staff I feel it necessary to replace anyone who is no longer able, in communication, or interested in serving.

Thank you.

Haven't been overly active myself of late, but still forked end down, and willing to serve!  Need to get an updated roster of troops in my district. Hope to get out to the monthly match of the Sand Creek Raiders, later this month, the "Tarnal willin' an' the creek don't rise!.

Last call.  Have not heard from or of several staff members in almost three weeks.  New appointments will be forthcoming.

Trailrider

I was pleased and honored to meet Bvt. BGen Pitspitter this last Sunday at the Sand Creek Raiders monthly shoot. Having miscounted on the estimated ammo requirement, I found myself five (5) rounds of pistol ammo short.  Gen. Pitspitter was kind enough to loan me his Colt's SAA and five rounds of .45 ammo.  He and several other GAF members were shooting GAF match, but I have not had the opportunity to obtain lead alloy bullets nor to work up loads for a Krag carbine, so I shot the regular SASS course.  I had hopes of going clean, and did so on all targets EXCEPT a danged claybird popup.  Not an excuse, sir, but the launch spring on the popper was only popping the bird about two feet above the knockdown trigger target, and I have never been much of an aerial shooter anyway!  :P  Well, there's always next time.  8)

Congratulations to Bvt Lt. Col. Bat Masterson on being named Commander, District of Colorado.
