Not sure if this has been posted before, but I found it quite illuminating:

It shows the step-by-step process of creating a Stetson hat. I had no idea there were so many steps involved, or how much of it is done by hand. No wonder they're expensive!

I bought my first Stetson hat a couple of years ago. It's not near as good a hat as I had hoped. It is prone to becoming bent out of shape with least amount of effort. Picks up dirt and sweat faster then my old hat that came from a ranch supply store. The Stetson already looks nearly as used as my 30 year old hat.

What quality was it?  Hat Brands who owns Stetson makes good hats and cheap hats.

I have both a Stetson 5X and 30X (both bought at flea markets for a pittance) and the quality of the 30X is dramatically higher. Not surprising considering the cost difference.

What Hat Brands call 5X today ain't much.

A 5X from Rodeo King is far better.

Really enjoyed that video!

My esteem of Stetsons just went way up. I'll treat my one and only with more respect now, and I'm the 2nd owner. It just won't die.
