Just saw this on gunbroker, a USFA Lightning rifle in .45 Colt with a starting bid of $2995 and a buy it now of $3295.

Since I brought up the Lightning, does anybody know what calibers besides .45 Colt USFA made them in?

GaryG

They were also made in 38-40 and 44-40.  USFA had more functioning problems with the 45s.  The 38-40 and 44-40 were bottleneck cartridges and they functioned nicely.

Thanks Gary. Sure is a nice looking rifle.

WOW!, maybe I need to think about selling my USFA Lightning if they're bringing that kind of money!

Nahh.......it's too purty.  And it's in 44-40, so it runs really nice.  ;D
