Howdy,

I was wondering if anyone had a good case hardening person?

I have an Italian repro sharps and I wanted to have the action bone pack hardened. I know about Turnbull and Clasic Firearms ... (They take months and I was hoping for someone in the 2-4 week range.

Anyone know of someone? I would like to send them the whole rifle and have them remove the barrel and wood to get the job done.

I am in Houston if anyone knows someone in Texas.

Thanks,
Jacob

i don't think signal mountain is still in business, i live in the immediate area and cant locate a contact number? a few years back i was told they don't do bone and charcoal, but use a chemical/acid to color case?

Believe they are still running an ad in the BPCR news, but I could be wrong. Would be a shame if Signal Mtn. was out of business they did really great work.
The next best alternative would be Wyoming Armory in Cody, but the wait there is probably not going to suit those in a hurry either.

I have an excellent gunsmith in the Magnolia area (just on the NW side of Houston).  The name is John Powers and his company is Powers Metal Works.  Don't let the name mislead you.  He is an excellent gunsmith and works on all of our old stuff as well as can build you a custom rifle.  He does real bone/charcoal case hardening - beautiful work.

You can contact him at  www.powersmetalworks.com
