Woodruff cutter's??? Toggle links.

  OK,,gang,,,making my own toggle link's,,,how do i figure the dia. of the woodruff cutter ,,to cut the slot's where the link's  pin together ??the link's ( based on original's), are 5/16 in. thick,,the lip's for the slot's are 3/8 in,w (actually 25/64- 13/32 ) 5/32 in. pin holes,,based on these figures ,,what size cutter will I need to get the correct curve ???( I know typing this is slow,,,i have to keep running back over to the shop to mic. the pieces .)

ok if i understand you correctly, you have a milling machine. so if i perceive the challenge correctly, a criterion boring head or a rotary table will allow for any radius cut you are trying to cut. you would have to have a custom "key seat" cutter made to fit your needs exactly

YO !,,kwilliams,,thanks for reply.  WELLLLLL, SORT OF ,,I HAVE A MINI MILL & LATHE,,,learning to operate them,,making the back half of the toggle link's is the easiest part ,,,making the front pcs. ( the female end) with the correct inside radius,,was the reason for the question about the woodruff cutter.  Thank's again.

got it....
if your mill is a r-8 spindle taper, find a small boring head on ebay. you will be able to cut the radius you need by incrementally creeping up on the final radius. boring heads are a great tool to have, just this morning i cut a paper patch bullet  mold with a single point cutter, and slowly working my way up to the preferred diameter.
