I needed to sight in three rifles, the '76 was up first. Granted the range was only 25 yards though for recording fps it made no difference. With the temperature at 93 degrees and strong wind my endurance was limited but it was fun. I wiped between shots, two wet and one dry. I use NAPA cutting oil: 7 parts water and 1 part oil, works great. The bullet used was is a lubed, SAECO #17 Gas Checked, Powder Coated and sized to .457. Finished weight is 360 grains in front of 75 grains of "Old Eynsford". Fps:
1480
1469
1479
1460
1466

I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.
