Two Flints

Hello SSS,

Ken McPheeters of Antique Guns sent me this Email to post.  He cannot do it himself as his AOL problem does not let him log onto SSS.  We're not sure why??????  But this is what he was trying to post.

By the way Two Flints, the reason I discovered this problem in the first place, and which got lost in the shuffle, was I intended to post some info on a company some, if not all, of your readers may be aware of - David Crossno's Gun Smith Shop in OK  - http://www.crossnogunservice.com/

He and his crew are great people and a terrific source.  I'm having a .45-70 Peabody restocked in the form of the "Gemmer Hawken" style, as a number of them were produced in the 19th Century.  Mechanically the gun is great, and it has one of the Henry barrels with 7 lands and grooves which are so highly thought of.  Their prices are very competitive and their work is excellent.  Very happy with them to date.

David also makes a .22 caliber insert for Sharps rifles and carbines which include a chamber and barrel to allow the shooting of the sub caliber in a larger bore.  Its possible he could be convinced to make such an arrangement for a Spencer.  Makes for a fun plinker.

In any case, if any of your folks are looking for stocks or need this sort of work done, they might want to hang on to David's contact info.

Best, Ken
