I decided it should have its own thread, rather than buried in the bottom of the thread about my ill fated effort to re-barrel my .45 Henry (now sold) into a .44-40.

It shipped second day Fed Ex from the generous pard MT Marfields FFL to my FFL in Grass Valley.  The the californication 10 day jail starts when it gets here.

It is an "As New" Dixie Gunworks sourced 1860 Henry Military Model in .44-40.  It has sling swivels, a trapdoor buttstock and even has a four pice Henry cleaning rod in the butt stock!  It is an exact duplicate of the original Navy Arms sourced 1860 Henry Military model I got in 1995, right down to the cleaning rod (remember when Navy Arms sold them?)   ;D

Now the only thing lacking is one of those web prairie belts that Navy Arms used to sell.  Not that it was a great belt, but just sentimental...  It had 44 loops.  I loaded 22 with rifle and 22 with pistol.  It was the belt I wore for years while I had that Henry. I keep scouring ebay and put a WTB on SASS Wire forum,  but no joy,  Dang, I turned 65 yesterday, and I am getting all nostalgic.

Thank You MT Marfield....

Happy birthday, you ole phart!  You are about 5 weeks older than me, so I guess I'd better be kind to my elders.   :)

Thanks.  I got my Fairweather Christian belt from Carrico. (He makes great stuff!) I'd like a navy Arms for nostalgia sake, but may have David make me up one.

   Greetings, TL!

Glad it's going to a Good Home...! I'll miss it, but I need room ( and $$$ ) for that Uberti 1866 Infantry Rifle.
My FFL informed me that this was the first, and last, firearm that he was shipping to CA for me; something to
do with additional paperwork. Ah, well.

Tell me when it arrives, and what you think!

            Be Well!

I'm glad that your rifle is in the ups truck like mine is but I had no idea MT that you resided in the People's Republic. You have my sympathies. Extra paperwork for a 1866 Winchester musket? Okay, I get it now, obviously because it's a military rifle with a bayonet mount, sling swivels and a bigger than 10 round magazine. Makes perfect sense. Thank goodness that you've got dedicated politicians keeping you safe. Can't have something with that kind of firepower falling into some East LA gang members hands. You know you're lucky that they're letting you have it at all.

NO, I live in California, he lives in Colorado.  Dealers shipping to the Peoples Repubik of Kalifornistan is a pain.  Funny thing is, a citizen can ship to a CA dealer with no hassle.
