Thought some of you other basement gunsmiths would find this interesting. I'm repairing a drilling firing pin and had to take the action part way apart to get at it. The firing group/ triggers in them selves makes a Colt SAA look down right inviting! Haven't got a date on the gun yet but it's at least from the late 18 hundreds. Two and one half inche 16 gauge double over a 9.3x48 mm rifle. With built in tang sight.

Complex work of art there . Think I'd take a couple pics of that one before taking it apart!  A very beautiful piece ! ,,DT

Honestly .......  ::)   I wouldn't take it apart.  I'd take it to somebody else to take apart   ;D

Got the whole job done, cleaned inside and out, made a new firing pin for the rifle barrel, raised four dents in the shotgun barrels and made cartridges by reforming a 30/30 cases. Loaded them with 190 grain bullets and 40 grains of 3fg black powder. Shoots high at 25 yards and I only shot the shotgun part twice for function. Fun project.

Actually, "Drilling" in German is "Triplett" or Triple.

Correct Herr Maker -
"drilling" is a varient spelling  of the original (archaic)  "Drei - ling" (as in Eins, Zwei , Drei) - for "Triplett". -
for  over 500 years "Drilling" has been the accepted word for triplet.

Vierling is the 4 barrel version.
