I just purchased a new in box, A. Uberti Stoeger 1866 carbine, New in Box Model: 0228-W66 .45LC Carbine, Serial # W36196.

I cannot find a standard Uberti Date Code on it, Could someone give me an idea when it was manufactured.

Thanks for any help.

is it marked
A. Uberti - Stoeger ?

if so it 05 or later  ( your looking for Date Code something like this [BZ] )05 [CA] 06

On my two, the marks are on the barrel Right side neat the receiver ,
on my later 73 it's under the tang
when planets align...do the deal !

Major:

Thanks for the info but the rifle has no lettering such as [BZ] or [CA]. I scrutinized it from Butt to Muzzle but no markings as thoes.

There are no letters on the tang, when you indicated it may be on the tang, is that the underside I would have to remove the stock to see.

The only Markings are the standard 1866 Carbine, Serial# and on the top of the barrel, behind the sight (45 LC) and in front on top
(Stoeger-AUberti-Gardoni, IT.)

Again thanks for any help.

My 1866 Yellowboy rifle is the same ,no letters anywhere, serial #W24933. If the Major is right mine must have been made earlier the 05.
