I'm posting these photos on behalf of the owner of this particular Spencer carbine-shotgun combo.  He is a collector, not a shooter, and has very little info on the gun, except that he claims to have come across a photo of a similar Spencer combo online.  Now he is unable to locate this photo, but it indicates that this combo-conversion was not entirely unique?
It was bought from another gun collector here in Norway, but there is no background info on why it turned up in Norway in the first place.
Hopefully members of the Spencer-forum will be able to provide more info on this gun.

I haven't held the gun in hand, and the current owner is a collector, not a shooter, so I can't say for sure, but:
Based on the dimensions of the shotgun barrel vs. the original rifled barrel, I'd say it's probably a 28ga. or 24ga.

R M Marcot states that there are at least 6 unique Spencer gunsmith-altered that feature a shotgun barrel beneath the rifle barrel, there are pictures of 3 in his book on Spencers ,one seems to be close to the one pictured
