Anyone had a chance to see the April 2017 issue of Handloader magazine? A reader submittied a question regarding loads for a Uberti 45 Colt. Brian Pearce answered with some very good information of recent production Uberti's including how the recent models are of very good quality and that they're significantly stronger than older ones due to the cylinder being .020" larger. Good stuff.

Mystery solved now I see why my holsters made for Gen1 guns are a tight fit for my Uberti SA's. My leather man thought somewhere he made an error.

There is little doubt that the Uberti replicas are stronger than a 1st gen Colt, but, they are not as strong as a Ruger so to be on the safe side stay with standard loads.

  Actually their strength level, according to the author, is the same as the all-American made USFA's and the Ruger New Vaqueros; 21-22,000 psi.

LOL...yup. To my knowledge, Handloader magazine, and specifically Brian Pearce, provide the only load data for that niche of revolvers. At www.loaddata.com loads for these revolvers are typically listed as 20,000 psi or 23,000 psi and recommended for "U.S. Fire Arms revolvers that are 100 percent American made (after the year 2000), Colt New Service, Ruger New Vaquero and Smith & Wesson post-World War II N Frames, including Models 25 and 625 Mountain Guns" and now of course, recent Uberti's!
